Yellow Ostrich—“Whale”
I think I might be ready for summer to end.
For all of those out there who think constantly trolling on small matters of improper grammar makes them appear any kind of smarter.

Black Moth Super Rainbow—“Dark Bubbles”
It’s been a strange evening/morning/afternoon. For some reason, this song seemed to fit. Black Moth Super Rainbow (formerly known as Tobacco,) is one of the most interesting bands I have ever seen live. For a good portion of their show, they had videos playing of clowns stabbing children to death. I didn’t mind. I absolutely hate babies. If you’re a sucker for the heavy use of a vocoder, you’ll love this band.

Protest the Hero—“Bone Marrow”
Apparently YouTube has decided to bitch out on me and show ads instead of showing the clean player format. In light of this mild annoyance, I’ve decided to see how SoundCloud looks on ye olde blog. However, it would appear as though I don’t have this option right now, seeing as my interwebs are slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through maple syrup. If you’re one of the people who is seeing ads, just click the YouTube player and close whatever window it decides to open. The ad should disappear after that.
I’ve been trying to figure out how I feel about going to this year’s Warped Tour for the past couple of weeks, and I am fairly certain that I am going to try to be in attendance. It’s always been a love/hate relationship for me. There are a handful of bands that are playing the Milwaukee stop that I wouldn’t mind seeing, such as 3OH!3, Attack Attack!, and D.R.U.G.S., but I am also disappointed in the bands who will not be playing the stop closest to mine, like Foxy Shazam, Hellogoodbye, and Places and Numbers. A fair amount of my friends are going to go, and it’s rather cheap, but I’m really not sure if I can emotionally handle the churning masses of “scene kids” who will surely be hardcore dancing everywhere they go. Then again, I do love to people watch. I suppose what it ultimately comes down to is my waning ability to identify with music that I used to be so addicted to in high school. It’s official: I’m getting old. Decisions, decisions…
I wouldn’t say that I’m into a lot of bands like Protest the Hero, but I’ve always really enjoyed their sound. “Bone Marrow” is off of their second full-length album Fortress. If you enjoy it, I would urge you to check out their other albums, Kezia and Scurrilous.
